About SCIP SITA Hazardous Waste Management Facility:

SCIP SITA Waste Services Co., Ltd. is a solution supplier of hazardous waste treatment. Located in the South-west of Shanghai. SCIP SITA Waste Services was officially put into operation in 2006. Owning nearly 10 years of operational experience in hazardous waste treatment and management in terms of safety and environmental performances, SCIP SITA has been considered by MEP as a leader and model in the industry. With the existing two sets of large-scale hazardous waste incineration processing lines, its treatment capacity has reached almost 60,000 tons/year. The capacity will be further doubled to solve the increasing hazardous waste disposal demands in the coming year with one additional line which will put into operation soon. By adopting the waste treatment techniques by SUEZ GROUP, a group with more than 100 years water and waste resources management experience, SCIP SITA provides packaging, transfer, transportation, analysis and treatment of an extensive range of industrial wastes as listed in the National Hazardous Wastes Catalogue. Established in 2003, SCIP SITA Waste Services Company Ltd. (SCIP SITA Waste Services) was jointly built by SCIP DC, SCIP IC, SITA WASTE SERVICES (the waste management branch of French group SUEZ) and NWS Holdings Limited(HK).

About the Speaker:

Benjamin CHAN PIU graduated in 1996 from Audencia Business School (France), and worked for Rhodia (French chemical company) on assignments in China and the United States. He joined Suez Environnement in 1999, where he has accumulated 15 years of experience in waste management and soil remediation, successively based in France, South Korea and China. While based in France (1999-2006), he was involved in several waste management projects in Europe (France, Germany, UK, Spain and Italy) in Finance & Strategy roles, and later in a Commercial role. He then managed a large industrial waste management facility in South Korea (2006-2010). From June 2010 to August 2015, he was the General Manager of SCIP SITA Waste Services, the largest hazardous waste incineration facility in China. Since September 1st 2015, he now holds the position of Deputy Director for Suez Recycling & Recovery Asia Incineration Business Unit, in charge of hazardous waste management.
