Automotive Roundtable - Essentials in Chinese Employment Law for Managers

Fee: None (by invitation only)

Chinese Employment Law, often also referred as Chinese Labor Law, is a vital area for achieving legal compliance in any foreign invested company in China. Due to a significant rise in awareness on these matters and compliance inspections becoming increasingly stringent and frequent, especially managers of foreign businesses with operations in China are well advised to be aware of the most important rules and regulations on how to accurately employ personnel in China according to local standards.

This roundtable will take place at the Draexlmaier Automotive plant near Benxi which was opened in 2010. The plant has a shop floor area of more than 48,000 sqm and currently occupies around 3,000 workers. The Draexlmaier plant produces state-of-the-art wiring harnesses for Automotive OEMs such as BMW Brilliance Automotive and others. On this rare occasion, Draexlmaier Automotive opens a factory for external guests and Mr. Kai Mussmann, Plant Manager at Draexlmaier Automotive in Benxi, will first introduce the visitors to the philosophy of Draexlmaier in China and then provide them with a guided tour through the manufacturing facilities.

External guest speaker Mr. Daniel Albrecht, Director at Starke Law Beijing, will present insights in the main aspects of employment law in China and share his case experiences. This roundtable will also provide the opportunity to discuss significant matters such as employment contracts, compensation issues, dismissals, Manager´s liability, prosecution and so on, on a manager level and will also inform about recent changes in legal regulations.
